There are 400+ restaurants and bars in our beach town of Lagos, Portugal, so this list is really just a snapshot of some of our favorites. Each one of us in the Eyes of the Algarve committee submitted our all-time favorite restaurant here in Lagos, and why we keep returning time and time again.
1. Meu Limao
Meu Limão – this one is Mike’s favorite. It’s a Spanish/Portuguese fusion restaurants with amazing shrimp risotto, mussels, and top-tier variety of shareable small plates.
2. Casa Do Prego
Casa do Prego – is Jimbo’s favorite in town. Consistently good food and fun staff. You can find some delicious modern Portuguese options here.
3. Restaurante Mimar
Restaurante Mimar – Jeff’s favorite for its delicious and creative tapas every single time and Super Bock on draft (one of two of the most famous Portuguese beers – Sagres is the other)
4. Luca's Rooftop
Luca’s Rooftop – Carrie chose this restaurant for the awesome views, great food, and stellar staff. It’s also on our list of best views in Lagos!
5. Lagos Farmers Market*
Lagos Farmer’s Market – Taylor can’t just choose a single restaurant, so she takes visitors to the Wednesday evening and Saturday morning local farmer’s market at Mercado do Levante. You can grab a bifana (Portuguese pork sandwich) and a cold beer at the food truck outside, snag some delicious baked goods Saturday mornings, indulge in local desserts Wednesday evenings, and try new produce you may not experience outside of Portugal. Her favorite is to buy all the foods you could want for a brunch on your patio after a Saturday morning farmer’s market experience. Note: cash only.
